The Basiricò oil mill was founded in 1982. Indissolubly tied to the territory of Western Sicily, the company uses the three local cultivars for the production of its oils, taking advantage of the best characteristics of each and achieving the finest combination by blending them together. The company offers five product selections:
The "Basiricò" Extra Virgin Olive Oil is slightly cloudy, with a green color and yellow hues. On the nose, it reveals aromas that evoke vegetal notes, while on the palate, it has a balanced flavor profile, featuring sweet and enveloping tones, enriched with distinct almond perceptions, and finishing with a spicy aftertaste.
It is obtained through cold extraction of the Cerasuola and Nocellara del Belice varieties, with a small percentage of Biancolilla. Thanks to the characteristics that are exclusively and inseparably tied to the territory where all stages of the production process take place, the "Basiricò Principe di Malumeri" extra virgin olive oil was created. This oil proudly carries the DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) recognition “Valli Trapanesi,” with its production, transformation, and packaging taking place in a defined geographical area and fully complying with the requirements set forth by the DOP production regulations. “Basiricò Principe di Malumeri D.O.P” is a blend of Cerasuola, Nocellara, and Biancolilla with the predominance of approximately 80% Cerasuola It offers captivating aromas, characterized by the fragrance of a medium-intensity fruity profile, where the green olive merges with fresh herbaceous notes.
"Basiricò Biologico" is obtained by converting the production to a new way of approaching all stages of the production process, the oldest one, the natural method.
Through the adoption of cultivation techniques that preserve natural balances and biodiversity, its goal is to respect the environment. It is balanced, with both sweet and bitter tones, supported by a slight spiciness.
Basiricò, "Cantu d'Amuri," with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), is the result of a skillful combination of pedoclimatic and human factors that, when combined with the territory, determine the organoleptic profile of a product that encapsulates the sun and fragrances of Sicily.
Characterized by a medium-intense fruity flavor, it evokes freshly cut grass, tomato leaf, and artichoke.
And finally, the latest creation to earn Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status is Basiricò Limited Edition — a single-variety Cerasuola extra virgin olive oil of exceptional quality, distinguished by its high polyphenol content. Basiricò is a magical union between us, the producers, and the people who choose us.
